Peridot
Peridot is a gemstone. The word probably comes from the Greek word "uncertain". It is one of the few gemstones which can be found only in one color. It is green with a touch of gold shimmer. The green color depends on how much iron is contained in the mineral. Peridot is the birthstone for August.
